Day two moves into an in-depth introduction to the Cypress testing environment. Attendees install Cypress, explore its desktop application, CLI, and directory structure, then write their first end-to-end, component, integration, and unit tests. The GUI module covers time traveling through the command log, debugging with developer tools, and working with spies, stubs, and clocks. The API module then teaches the chaining style behind commands such as cy.visit, cy.get, and cy.click.
Day three covers advanced topics: custom commands, the Cypress Node server, and handling external dependencies through stubbing, aliases, and fixtures. Headless execution in CI, parallel test runs, video recording, and the Cypress Dashboard follow, along with techniques for analyzing stack traces. A closing best-practices module covers repeatable test design and recipes for building tests suited to continuous integration. Each day has four modules with a 50/50 lecture-lab split, and by the end, attendees can build and maintain sophisticated, best-practices-driven test suites.
