Cilium Certified Associate (CCA) Boot Camp with Exam is an intensive, two-day program in Cilium, eBPF, and cloud-native networking. Attendees learn to connect, secure, and observe Kubernetes clusters using Cilium’s eBPF-based architecture. This architecture replaces traditional kube-proxy networking with a faster, identity-aware datapath. It positions Cilium as the networking and security layer beneath modern cloud-native and AI infrastructure platforms. Platform engineers, SREs, and DevOps teams leave with the skills to deploy, secure, and troubleshoot Cilium in production, and with the knowledge needed to pass the official CNCF/Linux Foundation CCA certification exam.
The course covers all eight official CCA exam domains, weighted to match the certification blueprint. Day one covers Cilium architecture, eBPF fundamentals, and installation, before moving into network policy enforcement and service mesh capabilities. Network observability using Hubble opens day two, followed by Cluster Mesh and BGP for multi-cluster and external connectivity. The course finishes with two dedicated test prep sessions. These give attendees a practical, test-style experience with sample questions modeled on the real exam format. Attendees leave well prepared to sit the CCA exam itself.
Through lecture, demonstration, and hands-on labs, attendees install, configure, and operate real Cilium deployments. This builds practical experience with network policy enforcement, service mesh traffic management, and Hubble-based observability. Attendees leave with a broader understanding of Cilium and cloud-native networking. This greatly increases their chances of passing the CCA exam on the first attempt.
Who Should Attend
Platform Engineers, Cloud Engineers, SREs, DevOps personnel, Network Engineers
What Attendees Will Learn
Upon completing Cilium Certified Associate (CCA) Boot Camp with Exam, attendees will be able to:
- Explain Cilium architecture and eBPF fundamentals
- Install and configure Cilium using Helm and supported CNI deployment options
- Enforce network policies using CiliumNetworkPolicy for L3, L4, and L7 security
- Implement service mesh capabilities including mTLS, Ingress, and traffic management
- Observe network traffic using Hubble for real-time flow visibility and troubleshooting
- Connect multiple clusters and integrate BGP routing for external network connectivity
- Prepare for and pass the CCA certification exam
Prerequisites
Kubernetes proficiency is required; attendees unfamiliar with pods, services, and cluster networking should complete “RX-M Kubernetes Foundation” first. Prior Kubernetes certification (KCNA, CKA, or CKAD) is recommended but not required.
