This CockroachDB Foundation course provides an overview and introduction to the CockroachDB SQL database. Students will learn the principles behind the CockroachDB distributed SQL database and how its characteristics impact effective models for design and use. The course covers setting up a simple CockroachDB standalone and in Kubernetes, how to create databases, table and indexes as well as how to design efficient queries and transactions. Upon completion attendees will have the skills necessary to begin developing applications using CockroachDB.

Prerequisites
Each attendee must be able to ssh into a provided cloud instance to complete lab exercises. Unconstrained internet access is also required to complete the labs. Basic Linux command line skills are valuable but not required.
