Docker Foundation is a hands-on, three-day introduction to Docker for developers, DevOps staff, and other technology professionals. Attendees leave with a clear picture of Docker’s role in the market and how teams use containers in development, test, and production. The course also shows how other tools in the container ecosystem fit alongside Docker.
Students get hands-on time with the Docker command line, Dockerfiles, and the image build process. Labs cover volumes, security, networking, and basic clustering. Attendees work through the full range of Docker CLI commands and Dockerfile instructions, gaining insight into the Linux kernel technologies that make containers possible. By the end, they have the skills to start using containers in their own development, test, and deployment work right away.
Day one opens with Container Introduction and Container Basics, building core vocabulary before attendees move into Controlling Containers and Advanced Container Operations. Day two covers Container Images, Registries and Docker Hub, then two Dockerfiles modules on syntax, caching, and multi-stage builds. Day three wraps up with Docker Volumes, Docker Security, and Docker Networking, closing with an Orchestration module that previews how Swarm and Kubernetes coordinate multi-host deployments.
