Docker Boot Camp puts working developers, DevOps staff, and other technology professionals through a comprehensive, hands-on treatment of Docker across five intensive days. Attendees leave with a clear understanding of Docker and its place in the market. They learn how containers get used in development, test, and production settings, along with container networking internals and multi-host networking. The course also covers security, cgroups, and namespaces, plus hands-on experience with Docker API operations and distributed Docker configuration. During the course, students work directly with the Docker command line, Dockerfiles, and the Docker image creation process. The course covers container operations in depth. It introduces every Docker command line command and the full range of Dockerfile instructions. Students also gain architectural insight into the Linux kernel technologies that power Docker.
Discussion also covers the evolving microservice-based ecosystem and the relationship between Docker and the Open Container Initiative (OCI) standards. The course examines Docker’s architecture at the runC, containerd, and Engine levels. Each module closes with a lab that challenges attendees to experiment and explore, building a deeper understanding of how Docker works. The skills and knowledge from this course prove particularly useful to system designers and architects who want to leverage the best features of containers while avoiding the pitfalls. By the end, attendees have the skills and information needed to integrate Docker and containers effectively into sophisticated enterprise environments. This includes weaving Docker into every step of the CI/CD pipeline.
Who Should Attend
