Full Stack Development Foundation is a three-day, hands-on course that introduces the core technologies and patterns behind modern full-stack web development. It uses Node.js, Express, React, and MongoDB. Participants build a working application across the stack while learning best practices for frontend architecture, backend service design, data modeling, and operational readiness.
Day one focuses on backend development with Node.js, Express, and MongoDB. Day two shifts to frontend development with React and connecting the frontend to the backend API. Day three closes with testing, security and performance basics, and DevOps and deployment concepts, including containerization, CI/CD, and cloud deployment patterns. The course emphasizes practical development skills, modern JavaScript tooling, API-driven architecture, and production-ready practices throughout. By the end, attendees understand how the frontend, backend, and database layers fit together into a deployable application.
Day one moves from a Full Stack Architecture Overview into Node.js and Express Fundamentals, then MongoDB and Data Modeling. API Development Best Practices closes the day with a backend lab that produces a working API service. Day two opens with React Foundations and React Application Structure, covering hooks, routing, and component styling. Integrating Frontend and Backend and Building a Full Stack Feature then connect that React client to the Express API built the day before.
Day three rounds out the course with Testing Full Stack Applications, Security and Performance Basics, and DevOps and Deployment Concepts. A final Operational Readiness module built around a capstone lab closes the course.
Who Should Attend
Developers, QA Staff, Technical Managers
What Attendees Will Learn
Upon completing Full Stack Development Foundation, attendees will be able to:
- Design full stack JavaScript applications using client/server architecture principles
- Build backend REST APIs with Node.js, Express, and middleware
- Model and persist data using MongoDB and NoSQL data modeling principles
- Apply API development best practices, including validation, error handling, and basic security
- Build component-based frontend applications with React, hooks, and routing
- Integrate React frontends with Express APIs and MongoDB persistence
- Test full stack applications using unit, integration, and API testing strategies
- Apply DevOps practices, including containerization, CI/CD, and cloud deployment, to full stack applications
Prerequisites
Attendees should have prior experience with at least one programming language. No prior experience with JavaScript, Node.js, React, or MongoDB specifically is required, as the course builds those skills from the ground up.
