Kubernetes Advanced for Operators gives experienced Kubernetes users a deeper look at the platform across three hands-on days. The course picks up where Kubernetes Foundation leaves off. It takes attendees through an advanced tour of Kubernetes administration and deployment using lecture, demonstrations, and extensive lab work. Day one opens with architecture, covering the API server, Scheduler, and Controller Manager alongside the worker node agents Kubelet and Kube-Proxy. It then moves into Pod architecture and the scheduling decisions that place workloads on the right nodes, before closing with Services.
Day two shifts to networking and platform concerns, covering software defined networking, Ingress, and the newer Gateway API. It then introduces service mesh concepts and core security fundamentals that protect a multi-tenant cluster from misconfiguration and unauthorized access. Day three turns to operations, opening with observability and troubleshooting techniques. These help operators trace problems back to their root cause under real production pressure. Attendees then extend the platform with CRDs and custom controllers. They build resources and reconciliation logic that behave like native Kubernetes objects. The course closes with Istio multicluster configuration, connecting workloads across separate clusters into a single, secured mesh.
Students gain hands-on experience configuring and managing these features in a live Kubernetes lab cluster throughout all three days. They leave with a clear understanding of the platform’s more advanced capabilities in a container-based enterprise.
